Freehold Enfranchisement
Freehold enfranchisement is the process of selling residential freehold reversionary interests in entire buildings that are subject to residential leasehold flats. The legal rules that govern the strict selling process of these residential freehold reversionary interests are contained mainly within three pieces of legislation:
- The Leasehold Reform Act 1967
- The Landlord & Tenant Act 1987
- The Leasehold Reform Housing & Urban Development Act 1993 (as amended)
